at victoria legal aid, we aim to make a difference in the lives of our clients and for the community, by resolving and preventing legal problems, and encouraging a fair and transparent justice system. we help people in different areas of the law and those most in need. our clients are among the most vulnerable in victoria. this year, more people needed our help with more serious legal problems. we are only a phone call away to ensure victorians understand their legal rights

and how to get help. we established the independent mental health advocacy program, to ensure people receiving compulsory mental health treatment, are able to have their say. we work in the community to educate vulnerable victorians, to prevent disputes or stop them from escalating. we continue to help our community tackle the growing problem of family violence. we provided more assistance on family violence intervention orders, including breaches. we triage client safety, but we know more is needed to be done.

we are privileged to advocate for our clients and guide them through the justice system. we care about our clients and the community in which we live.
