borrowing items from the uts library retrieval system (or lrs) as a day visitor. this video will show uts library day visitors how to request hard copy generalcollection and journal holdings from the library retrieval system. these can borrowed as day-loan items, are for in-library use only, and must bereturned at least an hour prior to library close. firstly at one of the express catalogueterminals, search for the item you want by typingits name into the search field. when you've found it in the catalogue, clickthe blue

'request from lrs' button. a pop-up box with the title the item will appear. it will ask you to either sign in torequest the item from the lrs, or to 'continue as a guest'. select 'continue as a guest'. at the next pop-up box, fill inyourcontact details, including your name, email address andmobile phone number, and remember to select the location fromwhich you wish to pick the item up, ie the city campus library open holdsshelf,

or the kuring-gai campus library loans desk. then press 'request'. you will receive a notification to let youknow when the item has arrived. for city campus pickups, you can get the item from the open holdsshelf area yourself, where it will be stored alphabeticallyby your surname. to use it within the library, simply giveone of our desk staff your day visitor pass, or another form of personalidentification. please remember to return the item at least one hour prior tolibrary close.

the item has now been requested.
